The annual calendar of events of the Toggenburg excursion and holiday region is full to the brim. Some of the summer highlights are: traditional festivities on various alps, local cattle markets, the historic setting of the small town of Lichtensteig, country open air festivals as well as the international ballooning days.

Famous in winter are the horn sleigh races in Alt St. Johann, the spectacular "Saugumpe" night ski jumping contest, x-cross and free style events organised by snowland.ch and, of course, special family ski races.
